Job Description
SUMMARY
Responsible for the day-to-day support of assigned categories including vendor contract rebates, discontinued items, supplier cost changes, and new product data entry. Intermittent travel is required in this role and frequency will be based on the needs of the business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Manage a subset of program level suppliers as determined by the Category Manager or Managing Director.
- Work with non-program suppliers to secure Marketing Agreements in order to drive incremental sales and program dollars.
- Recommend new methods for process improvement , and show ownership of assigned categories, products, and projects.
- Manage new item data and existing item characteristics.
- Manage discontinued items and assist in finding replacements.
- Manage Sales Promotion & Zip Code Report processes for the assigned product categories.
- Manage and communicate supplier cost changes.
- Review all pricing variances.
- Train less experienced staff within the department and takes on a leadership role as required.
- Manage supplier discounts and exception net costs for Don AutoQuotes.
- Implement and track promotions for Advisors, Supplier Expos, etc.
- Review in house contract rebates for vendor support opportunities.
- Act as the key category contact for the Digital Asset Management Database and the DON source book.
- Edit and proof Advisors and other Marketing materials.
- Lead and manage Advisors where necessary.
- Keep Manager informed of issues within area of assigned responsibility.
- Escalate issues beyond scope of authority to appropriate parties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
External Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's Degree and 2 years applicable professional work experience, OR a High School Diploma or GED equivalent plus a minimum of 2 years applicable professional work experience. Ability to develop and negotiate financial programs with assigned suppliers and manage project effectively and efficiently. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Strong analytical, organizational skills and the ability to problem solve, multitask, prioritize and work independently. Excellent communication, and time management skills.
Preferred: Previous SAP experience working with foodservice product lines and/or Degree in Marketing, Merchandising, Business, or Organizational Communications. Knowledge of foodservice & equipment product lines and categories.
