The Category Support Specialist will:
- Manages the new product addition process. Acts as the primary contact for all new product requests from Sales. Completes the new supplier process in TERM and works directly with the Sourcing team to negotiate pricing from suppliers and establishing initial terms and conditions with the help of the Contracts team. Establishes new SKU pricing/gross margin with input from Product Management and Pricing leadership. Responsible for timely communication to groups of interest.
- Manages Product Management Project intake that supports requests from Product Managers, Sales and Marketing which include product inquiries, new product requests, Voice of the Customer (VOC) resolution, image procurement, part attribution within Product Information Management program (PIM) and promotional proofing.
- Supports assigned product lines. Research customer needs and competitor’s product line, adding product as requested by Product Management and Sales while meeting or exceeding targeted objectives with awareness of gross profit margins.
- Supports Global and Domestic Sourcing projects, RFQ’s and product validation. Provides insight for new global product opportunities.
- Coordinates and executes customized customer logo products as requested by Sales and Customers.
- Manages the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) process including obtaining information from vendors and ensuring information is current.
- Provides routine support to product management and purchasing activities. Provides back up support to Purchasing Category Support functions.
Ideal Candidate:
Associate degree or equivalent experience of 1-3 years of Product Management, Marketing, Customer Service, Sales, or Distribution experience
