Responsibilities:
The Clinical Documentation Specialist Coordinator Trainee (CDS Coordinator Trainee) supports Clinical Documentation Improvement program (CDI). CDS Coordinator Trainee shadows and supports CDS to improve communication with medical Staff. CDS Coordinator Trainee works closely with CDS to facilitate appropriate clinical documentation of patient care. Other responsibilities include assisting CDS in tracking physician queries and related physician education activities.
Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience
1. Bachelors in medical/health sciences or health services or related fields.
2. Experience with SharePoint, MS Word, Excel, Power point.
3. One year of clinical experience in healthcare care setting.
4. Prior Case Management and CDI experience is desirable.
5. Knowledge of care delivery documentation systems and related medical record documents.
6. Knowledge of age-specific needs and the elements of disease processes and related procedures.
7. Strong broad-based clinical knowledge and understanding of pathology / physiology of disease processes.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent critical thinking skills.
9. Excellent interpersonal skills to build effective partnering relationships with physicians, nurse staff, and hospital management staff.

Desert Valley Hospital offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that provides employees the flexibility to tailor benefits according to their individual needs. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $25.00 to $28.75.
