As a Medical Assistant you will work under direct supervision of a healthcare practitioner to use your clinical knowledge and skills to assist in delighting our patients.

Specifically, job requirements:

1. Greets patients and prepare them for physical examinations, including obtaining vital signs, weight, height, reviewing medications and medical history, allergies, and performing all ancillary tests required

2. Assist physicians during examination and treatment

3. Maintains supplies, cleans rooms and equipment, and stocks rooms with required supplies

4. Operate and maintain autoclave machine in accordance with policy and procedures that meet all regulatory requirements

5. Maintain and operate all clinical equipment including calibration and record keeping in accordance with the current policy and procedure and manufacturers recommendations

6. Perform ancillary testing and tasks as ordered by the supervising practitioner

7. Assist in surgical tray set up and injury or acute care as directed by the treating physician

8. Maintain the lab supplies, equipment, rapid testing and all required record keeping, and quality assurance duties as required by CLIA

9. Dispenses medications and appliances, applies bandages, dressings and splints as ordered by the physician

10. Assists in maintaining a neat, clean and orderly appearance in the center throughout the day.

11. Follows HIPAA guidelines and safety rules as outlined in training

12. Attend and participate in team huddles, center staff meetings, ongoing training

13. Performs all duties to achieve or exceed established and desired service standards and create a delightful patient experience before, during and after the visit

14. Performs other duties as assigned by leadership

Critical to the work – you must have these:

1. H.S. Diploma or GED

2. 1-year medical assisting experience in a clinic setting

3. Clinical competencies to perform the duties of a Medical Assistant-Certified

4. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN).

5. Washington State Medical Assistant Certified or Medical Assistant Interim certification, WA State Only.

3. Experience using EPIC

4. Associates or Bachelors Degree

5. Bilingual- Spanish preferred

1. Customer service skills to ensure an enjoyable and pleasant check in, check out as well as pre and post appointment interaction.

2. Excellent phone communication and ability to gather history and current conditions from patients prior to appointments.

3. Skill operating computer in a Windows environment utilizing Outlook, Work, and Excel

4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

5. Ability to interact effectively with associates and management at all levels

6. Independent decision making skills and ability to influence others to resolve issues

7. Ability to work as a member of a team or independently without supervision or direction

8. Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment to handle sensitive and confidential information in a discrete and professional manner

9. Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaning strong attention to detail.

Working Environment

Work is performed within a normal clinical office environment with ambient temperatures.

The following have been identified as essential physical requirements of this job and must be performed with or without an accommodation: This is primarily a sedentary role which requires the ability to exert up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. This role requires the ability to keyboard and to communicate clearly and understandably in person, and over the telephone.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $29.95 per hour
