Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Job at The SpOT Clinic
Are you looking to grow with a multi-disciplinary practice in a beautiful beach community of Gulf Shores, Alabama? If so, we are the place for you! We also have the privilege of serving some school districts in the South Alabama area as well. The SpOT Clinic is a pediatric clinic serving children ages 0 - 16. We offer Speech, Physical, Occupational Therapy and ABA. The owner and clinic managers of The SpOT Clinic are all therapists. We know and love pediatrics! We are a true work family and are searching for a COTA that will be a great asset to our team and who can complement our work family. This position would be full time position. Pediatric experience is preferred.
Must be certified and licensed or able to provide temporary license while taking state boards.
The COTA is responsible for:
- Therapist documentation is completed timely
- Informing Lead OT when resources/evaluations/protocols need to be ordered
- Attending weekly staffing (optional)
- Assisting therapists with patients when needing additional help, when requested
- Performing treatment to assigned patients as indicated on the schedule by POC
- Treating clients, including additional tasks to provide patient car
- Documenting to support progress – SOAP notes completed on a timely basis (Point of service documentation is expected)
- Submitting treatment charges before leaving the clinic each day
- Maintaining appropriate cleanliness- gym clean, room clean process, kitchen clean up after yourself
- Identification of any concerns to Lead OT
- Communicating with parents after treatment sessions
- Patient care coordination- refer to Lead OT when appropriate
- Participate in The SpOT Clinic social media and community awareness efforts
- Submit time off and continuing education requests to Lead and Clinic Manager
- Give as close to 24hr notice for sick days via call/text to Lead
- Communicating to Lead OT when support is wanted or needed
- Maintaining required Continuing Education for and maintaining licensure annually (some reimbursement available)
- Communicating and teaching the positive culture and core values of The SpOT Clinic on a consistent basis to families and community
- Fostering an environment that promotes communication and accountability among team members
- Fostering an environment that promotes an excellent team environment
- Support Lead, Clinic Manager, Administrative Director, and CEO
- Excellent attendance/punctuality, creativity, ability to problem solve, and professionalism
