Responsibilities
- Completes initial substance use disorder assessments to determine diagnosis and substance use disorder treatment level of care (utilizing the American Society of Addiction Medicine Patient Placement –ASAM criteria).
- Performs comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to collect, analyze and synthesize information to address client status, strengths and area/s of clinical concern.
- Establishes rapport and develops a therapeutic relationship with assigned clients.
- Develops substance use disorder treatment plans in accordance with program requirements and state and federal regulations.
- Monitors client progress in areas of recovery, personal growth, self-sufficiency and living skills.
- Collaborates with all involved parties to ensure continuity of care and maximum effectiveness of services provided.
- Co-creates with client/s a comprehensive discharge plan that includes continuing care needs and appropriate aftercare services.
- Conducts recovery related educational sessions and substance use disorder treatment groups.
- Provides trauma-informed crisis intervention and conflict resolution assistance when needed.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in the behavioral sciences, preferred.
- Previous experience working with chemically dependent and at-risk clientele, including a thorough understanding of chemical dependency treatment concepts, psychosocial assessment, application of chemical dependency diagnosis, provision of therapeutic chemical dependency treatment interventions, facilitation of therapeutic groups, etc., preferred.
Required Licensure and Certifications
CADC: Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
Completion of Mandatory Abuse Reporter Training.
Pay Range
$18.74 - $25.77 /hour
