We run on the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS®) where everyone is working towards the same Vision. All positions maintain key quarterly objectives and clear accountabilities. The main accountabilities for this role are:
- 85%+ of our restaurants meet COGs and labor targets
- 85%+ of our restaurants meet guest metrics (currently OSAT and Order Accuracy)
- 85%+ of our restaurants meet retention and bench expectations (retention must achieve top 25% for Fast Casual brands in Texas)
- 100% of our restaurants manage through change quickly and effectively
Additionally, the minimum expectations for an executive level role at Freebirds include exceptional contributions to:
- Revenue and Margin ideas
- Systems and process improvement
- Multi-year departmental planning (people and dollars against clear strategy)
- Budget management
- Setting an example for organization and meeting deadlines

- Ability to wear multiple hats, roll up your sleeve and do whatever it takes

This is an in-office role based out of Austin, TX that will require up to 25% field travel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicates regularly to the CEO
- Acts as the strategic leader of Talent, Training, Catering, and Culinary or other Departments that do not yet have an executive level leader, as may be needed.
- Owns our four operational metrics: Guest Metrics, Margin Performance, Change Management, Retention
- Ensures proper organizational operational structure is in place for long-term success
- Drives organizational sales department success and metrics
- Owns restaurant operations, driving continuous improvement
- Owns the talent strategy for operations
- Drives operational training strategies
- Implements and measures major operational initiatives, including managing testing environments (Test Kitchen, IT, product procurement, etc.)
- Identifies new go-to markets opportunities
- Researches and ensures an optimal competitive position in marketplace
- Shares and drives our CEO's organizational goals, making them reality
- Makes sure departments are aligned around company objectives
- Champions and upholds culture across all areas of the organization
- Acts as a brand ambassador and face of the corporate executive team
- Develops a strong relationship with Visionary that allows for honest, pragmatic communication and vision alignment
- Owns corporate operations
- Owns the corporate talent acquisition strategy
- Owns training strategies for restaurant support center
- Implements and measures major initiatives cross-functionally
- Protects the continuity of the business and serves as interim CEO if needed
- Ensures continued organizational adherence to EOS® (Entrepreneurial Operating System).
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 3-5+ years advancing through GM, DO, or VP of Operations roles
- 5-7+ years of restaurant and/or operational to corporate progressive leadership
- Service industry experience (hospitality, hotels, retail, etc.)
- Leadership in the fast casual / hospitality industry
- Corporate and multi-unit experience
- Extensive project management experience
- Successful, provable growth metrics accomplishments in prior roles
- Influencing direction of company and people through metrics
- Has grown and developed organizational leadership/executive teams
- Responsible for organizational financial reporting
- Understands sales and growth functions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- Proven, successful history of growing companies with revenues 80M+
- Understanding restaurant technology (such as internal support systems, software)
- 4-year degree in business or finance
- Has network in Texas
Desired
- MBA
- Continuous learning (such as certifications, training, etc.)
- Experience leading training, catering, and/or talent acquisition departments
