The Department of Pediatrics at Dartmouth Health Children’s and The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth seeks a certified Advanced Practice Provider to join its medical staff. This individual will provide acute and non-acute medical assessments, treatment recommendations, and team communication for children and adolescents when there are questions about any type of child maltreatment. Requirements include training and experience in the care of children and adolescents. Experience in Child Abuse Pediatrics is preferred but not required, as training will be provided by CAPP.

Dartmouth Health Children’s provides an extended system of care with primary, specialty, and advanced tertiary pediatric services, including an inpatient pediatric unit with PICU, level II Pediatric Trauma Center, and level III NICU at its flagship Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (CHaD). Dartmouth Health Children’s also operates a comprehensive ambulatory specialty center at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinic in Manchester, the largest city in the state, and 10 pediatric primary care medical homes across the region. Dartmouth Health Children’s is committed to addressing racism and other forms of oppression that prevent all children and adolescents from living their healthiest, happiest lives.

CAPP provides a full range of multidisciplinary inpatient and outpatient consultations at DHMC in Lebanon and D-H clinics in Manchester and Nashua It also serves as an important resource for a variety of clinicians, community professionals, and Child Advocacy Centers throughout New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. This position will be based primarily at the Manchester clinic.

An essential component of this position will be working with the CAPP Director to help educate medical students, residents, sexual assault nurse examiners, and other health care professionals on the extensive needs of this vulnerable population. Academic appointment at The Geisel School of Medicine is therefore required, at a rank commensurate with academic portfolio.

  • Graduate of an accredited APRN or PA academic program
  • National specialty certification as FNP, WHNP, PNP, ANP or certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
