Claims Compliance Analyst I, II or Sr Job at National General Insurance
** *This is a compliance role and the preferred candidate will have claims compliance handling experience already***
Job Summary:
Responsible for ensuring the rules, guidelines, documents, procedures, reporting, training and other key components are compliant with state insurance regulations for an assigned area. Works to minimize complex risks and prevent litigation and regulatory exposure to the Claims organization. Also partners with Corporate Compliance to ensure the claims organization fully supports company objectives and requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports the coordination of the market conduct activity by working on complex claims components and required submissions for market conduct exams for impacted states
- Coordinates efforts with Corporate Compliance and represents the interests of the Claims organization before, during and after market conduct exams
- Works with Corporate, Claims and DOI personnel to facilitate processing of responses to DOI, BBB and executive complaints; review complex complaints and responses; elevates performance issues to claims management; report monthly complaint and justified statistics
- Maintains database of regulatory and other legislative requirements in all assigned states
- Updates the Claims Handling Guidelines by reviewing for compliance with state requirements
- Leads the training department on module creation and rollout as needed
- Consolidates significant events (regulations, statutes, case law, and other developments) for regular reporting to the Claims organization via a “Compliance Newsletter”
- Responsible for the documents housed within the EPIC claims handling system; provides instruction and feedback on the editing of the documents, reviews new documents for compliance; approves documents prior to submission into EPIC system
- Interfaces with others within and across departments and with State Department of Insurance contacts
- Oversees other projects as needed and mentors junior employees

Preferred Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
- 3 or more years of related experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Successful completion of one or more professional designations: FCLS (Fraud Claims Law Specialist), CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), CIFI (Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator)
Functional Skills
- Ability to partner and manage relationships with state Departments of Insurance, and other state and federal regulatory agencies
- Proficient in the research, review, analysis and reporting of regulatory and legislative requirements
- Advanced understanding of claims technical knowledge and claims handling within a personal lines insurance organization
- Advanced effective verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced business planning and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure, adhere to project deadlines and assume leadership role as needed
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong negotiation skills
- Solid understanding of insurance law as it relates to compliance

The base range offered for the role is: $52,500 - $85,000 and may vary based on internal equity, and job-related skills, knowledge and experience; among other factors. Other financial components may be added as part of the competitive compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
