Day Center Classroom Aide

Job Description: Assist instructor in planning, preparing, and implementing lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning. Assist in developing schemes of work, lesson plans, and tests that are in accordance with established procedures. Instruct and monitor person served in the use of learning materials and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in classroom and give clear directions and support the persons served goals.

Assist in managing a classroom with a ratio of 1:7 or above.

Help plan and prepare daily activities by a schedule to manage the room.

Assist in assuring that the classrooms are conducted in an orderly manner.

Assist with managing the noise level and assuring that persons served who are willing engage actively with training goals and LOPs, community outings and leisure activities.

Establish good rapport with individuals, families, care providers, staff, and visitors.

Report any unusual behaviors, incidents, or concerns to supervisory staff. Complete any necessary documentation.

Complete and pass all required training as mandated by M&M Day Services of Morgan County, licensing, and others as necessary.

Maintain required paperwork.

Be familiar with and comply with the policies and procedures of M&M Day Services of Morgan County, regulations, and safety manual.

Offer feedback to supervisory/case management staff for development of individual persons centered plans and goals.

Treat all individuals with respect and dignity. Maintain confidentiality. Ensure the safety and security of each participant.

Perform other related duties as required.
