The Clerk II-HR is responsible for providing support for HR, reporting directly to the site HR Generalist. Responsible for doing administrative duties as assigned. This includes, but not limited to, preparing, managing, and filing HR sensitive documents. Assist with onboarding and new hire orientation coordination and preparation. Support recruiting activity, help coordinate HR activities, help answer employee HR related questions, and provide site-wide administrative support as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Comply with Company Safety Policies

  • Provide safety leadership in promoting and creating a zero-injury safety culture

  • Understand the New Hire process and assist the HR team with candidate applications, drug screening, ID screening, background checks, onboarding, new hire paperwork, and ensuring everything is processed properly in a timely manner

  • File documents and maintain employee files

  • Assist the HR team with data entry and keep computer systems (Tracking systems, and HR documents) updated

  • Provide various administrative support for the HR team including answering phones and greeting employee applicants, scanning paperwork and answering employee questions

  • Orienting new employees to the organization

  • Assist employees with the Benefits enrollment process

  • Serving as a point person for all new employee questions

  • Maintaining current HR files and databases

  • Updating and keeping employee benefits, employment status, and similar records

  • Communicate clearly, both written and orally, as to communicate with employees, members of the HR management team, and in group presentations and meetings

  • Maintain confidential employee related documents and incoming mail

  • Coordinate I-9 Section 1 for new employees

  • Assist the HR Generalist with I-9 updates and other duties that may occur regarding E-Verify

  • Provide accurate HR information to employees, applicants, visitors, supervisors, management, and other administrative staff and/or departments

  • Complete various administrative tasks to support the HR Department: answer emails and calls, process changes, termination paperwork, and other HR forms

  • Maintain confidentiality

  • Support employees with setting up ADP accounts and policy acknowledgments

  • Provide and replace PPE equipment and other tools for employees as needed

  • Assist employees with ADP questions and request reset accounts as required

  • Provides secretarial support by entering, formatting, and printing information; organizing work; answering the telephone; relaying messages; maintaining equipment and supplies

  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee should have the following:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 1 - 2 years' experience in a relevant field

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee should possess the ability to:

  • Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable

  • Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out

  • Prolong standing or in stationary position

  • Complete repetitive movements

  • Bend and/or twist

  • Lift/move/transport items up to 25 pounds

  • Ability to move or traverse about the facilities

  • Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions

  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection)
