The MercyOne East Clinic in Pleasant Hill is looking for a Part Time Clinic RN to join the team! MercyOne Central Iowa operates four not-for-profit Catholic medical centers in Des Moines West Des Moines Newton and Centerville and two specialty hospitals – MercyOne Children’s Hospital in Des Moines and MercyOne Rehabilitation Hospital in Clive (965 beds total) – along with more than 20 additional facilities that house more than 50 primary care pediatric internal medicine and specialty clinics. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1893 MercyOne Central Iowa has the longest continually operating hospital in Des Moines and is also one of the largest employers in the state with more than 7000 employees and a medical staff of more than 1000 physicians and allied health associates. Responsibilities

In healthcare, we all agree that support is a must in order to be successful. You will communicate with patients and their caregivers throughout their entire clinic experience. From front office to back office and all clinical support required in between and ensure patients and their caregivers have a positive experience. Day-to-Day:
  • Demonstrates ability to recognize and assess urgent/emergency needs of patients and initiate appropriate emergency procedures as needed.
  • Demonstrates current level of knowledge of various payor regulations by functioning within those guidelines.
  • Follows clinic procedure/protocol for the organization and management of the electronic medical record (i.e. test results, retrieval, filing, creation, repair, charging of electronic medical record).
  • Acts to facilitate interdisciplinary communication. Utilizes other members of the health care team in assessing the patient and analyzes patient data. Assesses learning needs of the patient and significant others. Gives accurate and complete information to patient and family.
  • Evaluates patient and family understanding of treatment plan and/or instructions.
  • Assists with a variety of procedures, exams and/or operation of diagnostic equipment as assigned (i.e., tympanometry, spirometry, etc.).
  • Maintains appropriate aseptic technique for preparation, procedures and medications administered.
  • Accurately and legibly documents all patient interactions in patient record
  • Reports results and pertinent information to patients and health care team members.
  • Applies professional nursing skills in the provision of preventive health maintenance and treatment of ill and injured patients utilizing the four aspects of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Proficient in IV skills and IV hydration.

Qualifications
  • CMA- Successful completion of a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Current/Valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
  • LPN- Current LPN license issued by the State of Iowa
  • RN- Possession of a current RN License issued by the State of Iowa.
  • Clinic/Physician office experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population serve within three (3) months of hire.

Pay Range
$19.68 - $27.06 /hour
