New Pueblo Medicine, now part of Optum Primary Care has five board-certified internal medicine physicians, and 4 certified nurse-practitioners and a dedicated team of additional health professionals. An anticoagulation clinic, diabetes education, a traveler's clinic, same day next day care services, on-site Pharmacist, Behavioral Health Specialists and Care Management and Care Coordination services ensure that our patients have convenient access to a wide range of health services and programs. Our patient centered-medical home practice provides care that is proactive, preventive, acute, chronic, long term and even end-of-life replacing standard care that was less coordinated and episodic.
The Clinical Supervisor manages, plans, develops, organizes, and motivates the activities of the clinical team, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of quality health care.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides coordination and general technical supervision over the clinical staff and the delivery of care with an emphasis on quality cost effective care
- Maintains schedule of clinical employees work hours and provide for coverage on a daily basis
- Conducts clinical team meetings on a regular basis at least quarterly and more often as needed
- Attends monthly Leadership Team meetings to facilitate communication between areas, administration, and physicians. Update clinical staff on changes
- Provides for daily huddles of each providers Care Team
- Approves time cards for each pay period. Monitors and controls OT
- Approves requests for paid time off
- Provides regular educational in-services in conjunction with a provider
- Assists with the development of and work within the back office budget
- Reviews clinical expenses monthly
- Organizes yearly flu clinic
- Organizes and coordinate externship student’s program
- Address’ conflicts and disputes and facilitates a positive outcome
- Ensures all compliance policies are observed including but not limited to OSHA, HIPAA, infection control and Medicare
- Provides for adequate staff and ongoing staff development
- Participates in the interviewing and hiring process with Human Resources
- Provides for thorough and accurate training of clinical team members in all areas of responsibility
- Reviews overtime / compensatory time to improve clinical utilization
- Proposes short and long-term staffing patterns
- Conducts performance evaluations at appropriate time
- Ensures each clinical team member has a path way for improvement as needed and for professional growth if desired
- Develops and conducts orientation and yearly competency checks for clinical staff with check-off lists maintained in personnel files
- Conducts and documents coaching sessions with staff escalating to Human Resources as needed
- Maintains the quality of patient care
- Reviews and successfully address patient complaints, suggestions and comments
- Reviews quarterly performance reporting for quality, cost and patient experience and participates in developing strategies for improvement
- Reviews clinical area supply requisitions for accuracy and par quantities
- Maintains emergency preparedness protocols
- Maintains inventory, including emergency supplies
- Stays abreast of changes in the practice and plans for additional resources such as equipment, personnel or training
- Facilitates team work in conjunction with other supervisors across practice services areas
- Maintains excellent personal relations and communication with all members of the practice team
- Serves as chief liaison between clinical team members, physicians and administrative leadership
- Identifies, studies and recommends solutions for clinical service issues
- Keeps confidential matters relating to the practice, its patients and employees confidential
- Performs other projects and duties as requested

Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited MA program
- 10+ years of Medical Assistant experience
- Intermediate (or higher) level of proficiency with Microsoft Office
