Job Summary

The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for supporting implementation of basic and advanced clinical programs for AlignRx pharmacies. This position facilitates pharmacy practice transformation by providing clinical support for payer programs including documentation and case management.

Essential Job Functions

• Educate pharmacists and pharmacy staff members on importance of community pharmacy progression toward a value-based model of healthcare delivery.
• Maintain and improve level of AlignRx pharmacy network clinical service performance.
• Develop and maintain coaching program models for network pharmacies.
• Provide clinical support for AlignRx’s designated medical billing technology solution, specific to pharmacy guidance on thorough, accurate, and efficient clinical documentation and claims submission.
• Assist with monitoring and managing requests to join RxSelect CPESN via an electronic application process.
• Assist with RxSelect CPESN chapter meetings, RxSelect CPESN Advisory Board meetings, and related work group meetings.
• Prepare and deliver presentations introducing RxSelect CPESN to potential partners, payers, and pharmacies.
• Provide clinical education and training in the implementation of best practices, such as medication synchronization, medication therapy management, and the utilization of motivational interviewing, social determinants of health, community health workers, and workflow integration of non-pharmacy staff.
• Provide clinical insight and community pharmacy practice experience to AlignRx companywide program development and implementation.
• Train pharmacists and pharmacy staff members to deliver contracted clinical services.
• Travel to on-site corporate office for AlignRx business as needed.
• Perform other duties and activities as determined by senior leadership.

Additional Responsibilities

• Serve as preceptor for pharmacy students, when applicable.

Minimum Qualifications for Consideration

• Registered Pharmacist (R.Ph.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
• Active pharmacist license from state board of pharmacy
• Minimum of five years’ experience in community pharmacy practice or one year of post-graduate residency training in community pharmacy
• Preceptor certification (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience in community pharmacy dispensing workflow and care delivery
• Knowledge of the Pharmacy Services Administrative Organization (PSAO) marketplace
• Ability to incorporate AlignRx mission and vision into all job duties
• Initiative to develop and complete projects within designated timelines
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to lead and work collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong customer service orientation and commitment to professionalism
• Excellent public speaking skills and significant public speaking experience
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Resourceful interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Dependability through good attendance and adherence to schedules
• Computer skills to include file management, Internet, Microsoft Windows, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

• Ability to work remotely
• Maintaining of remote working conditions in compliance with company policy and procedures
• When onsite at corporate office, professional office environment
• Traveling to client locations, corporate office, other sites, and industry conferences, as needed
