As a UC Clinical Supervisor, you will be primarily responsible for the direct supervision of all the clinical staff and may include supervisor case management staff within the program. This individual will also carry a reduced clinical caseload, as well as provide therapy and clinical support to refugee and immigrant youth with a wide range of issues including mental health and substance disorders.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and provide trauma response services that are culturally relevant clinical services to refugee and immigrant clients;
  • Cultivate a trauma responsive culture;
  • Maintain an awareness of current trends and relevant evidence-based practices to recommend changes in agency policy and practice to advance the use of appropriate clinical interventions and training;
  • Provide weekly individual supervision to clinical staff and may include case management staff, while working to build a cohesive team and maintain positive staff morale;
  • Manage staff workload, case assignment, and other needed interventions required by staff to ensure quality services;
  • Review, approve and ensure timely submission of all direct reports and other relevant documents;
  • Provide regular feedback to staff writing professional reports, including clinical depth and breadth of service and concrete clinical progress and goals;
  • Coordinate outside professional consultations, to include psychiatric and psychological when needed while ensuring documentation for consultations is completed in a timely and effective manner;
  • Provide individual counseling sessions based on caseload and/or coverage needs;
  • Attend meetings with treatment team on a regularly scheduled basis;
  • Provide reports and testimony in court, as requested;
  • Be available for on-call clinical emergencies, as needed;
  • Attend project team, local and national meetings that will enhance the provision of service to clients;
  • Stay up-to-date on treatment modalities, while also completing and coordinating trainings as required by funding sources by attending conferences, seminars and journal reading;
  • Periodically travel to health care provider facilities to build and maintain positive working relationships and actively onboard new providers;
  • Implement and promote service delivery through a trauma-responsive lens consistent with your site locations trauma response model;
  • Ensure agency policies and procedures are enforced through employee evaluations, conference request, time sheets, and reimbursement vouchers;
  • Stay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services;
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s level degree in Human Services, Social Work or related field of study from an accredited college;
  • At least two (2) years of post-educational experience in human services;
  • Prior experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations;
  • Prior experience with co-occurring disorder treatment, strongly preferred;
  • Must have a broad knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and methodology of social work as acquired through a Master’s level degree;
  • Active Certification in the state of the work location;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated clinical, therapeutic, and crisis intervention skills;
  • Must have an ability to provide excellent and compassionate customer service;
  • Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality;
  • Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions;
  • Active motor vehicle license and maintain a reliable vehicle with adequate insurance coverage;
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
  • Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commitment.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age;
  • Must be able to pass required medical examinations and have the physical ability to fulfill the essential job functions, including physical restraints of a resident;
  • Successfully pass an annual TB test and document preference to receive or decline Hepatitis immunization;
  • Must be able to show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route:
  • Varicella: two doses of varicella vaccine (at least four weeks apart) OR born in the United States before 1980 with a reported history of chickenpox (verified by an adult present at the time of illness) OR titers indicating varicella immunity OR documentation from a healthcare provider verifying previous infection.
    MMR: two doses of MMR vaccine (at least four weeks apart) OR titers indicating immunity to all three diseases.
    TDap or Tdap: Complete primary vaccination series. If primary vaccination series completed in childhood, one Tdap dose in adulthood.
    Influenza: one dose annually during flu season.
