Job Summary
Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality, direct patient care. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team.
Essential Functions
- Provides direct patient care under the direction of the Unit Manager or Licensed Nurse, consistent with policies and procedures of the unit.
- Responsible for direct day-to-day care of assigned residents/patients including dressing, bathing, transporting and feeding.
- Documents care provided as directed in a manner consistent with guidelines.
- Maintains patients’ environment/work area/equipment, and communicates any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department/unit personnel.
- Complete and maintain required number of CNA educational hours.
- Participation in select unit quality monitoring activities under the direction of the Unit Manager or Nurse Leader.
Qualifications
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent
- Required Completion of State of Michigan approved CNA Training Course
- CRT-Nursing Assistant - PROMETRIC Prometric UPON HIRE except WITHIN 90 DAYS RNCs (Fuller, Kalamazoo, Reed City, United/Kelsey) Upon Hire required Or
- CRT-Nursing Assistant - PROMETRIC Prometric Lakeland 120 Days required
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association United/Kelsey, Big Rapids, Reed City, Gerber & Continuing Care (except Hospice) BSL certification not required at Lakeland Pine Ridge long term care facility. 90 Days required Or
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross United/Kelsey, Big Rapids, Reed City, Gerber & Continuing Care (except Hospice) BLS certification not required at Lakeland Pine Ridge long term care facility. 90 Days required
