CNC Machinist/Programmer Job at IKA Works, Inc.
IKA Works, Inc. has an immediate opening for a highly skilled CNC Machinist/Programmer on our twin spindle twin turret 11 axis bar fed machining center at our Wilmington, NC location. The candidate must be able to independently perform setups, program, deburr completed parts, perform secondary operations, and implement process improvements while maintaining a high level of safety and quality. The Machinist will assume full responsibility of their processes, work areas, preventative maintenance, and inventory control.
***PAY IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE***
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Review and understand engineering drawings
· Ensure all tooling required is available for current job and next in line
· Perform QC checks on every part manufactured at your machine
· Assist and oversee secondary operations on parts
· Document new processes and programs for record keeping
· Independently setup, program, operate and deburr parts on your machine
· Implement and suggest process improvements
· Perform all preventative maintenance for your machine
· Organize and clean work area daily
· Maintain a high level of ethical and safety standards
· Mentor and train peers as necessary
· Other duties may be assigned
Required Qualifications:
· Knowledge and experience programming using CAM software
· 3 years minimum working experience with multi-spindle/multi-turret machining centers
using live tooling
· Knowledge of machining a variety of metals including 316 SS, 304 SS, and Aluminum
· Able to independently program, setup, operate and deburr parts at the machine
· Strong problem solving skills
· Must possess good communication skills
· Must be team oriented
· Ability to develop machining processes and setup procedures
· Vast knowledge of surface finish requirements and QC skills
· Must be flexible to perform additional tasks in and around the shop when asked
· Proficiency in basic PC tasks/software
Desired Qualifications:
· Formal machining training/education
· 5+ years of experience machining/programming
· GibbsCAM software experience
· Knowledge and a working experience with the Metric system
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
