Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the Coding Manager/Coding Team and serves as the liaison between the Coding Manager/Coding Team and Providers to offer in-person coding (surgery and clinic) support to the providers and staff.
  • Weekly/Daily travel to the following TOA Clinic locations to provide full workday onsite support:

o Harding (Nashville)

o Westlawn (Murfreesboro)

o Hendersonville

o Clarksville

o One City (Nashville)

  • Communicates all coding related issues/questions coming from the Providers and staff to the Coding Manager/Coding Team and vice versa.
  • Helps Coding Manager with creating educational coding materials.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements:
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • A Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and thorough knowledge in the field of medical coding, Surgery and Clinic, and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge.
  • Prior experience in working with Providers and Medical Staff required. Orthopaedic experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to think creatively, highly driven, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to break down difficult coding concepts and make them easy to understand.
  • Strong Computer skills
  • Strong teaching skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written forms.
  • Strong analytical, instructional, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Must have patience and a strong desire to educate others.
  • Must be willing to travel daily to work a full day at each assigned clinic location.
