Position Summary:
A Team Leader in the Non-Affiliate Collections Department supervises a group of consumer loan collections Specialists. The Team Leader motivates, coaches and develops Specialists into becoming a highly responsive team capable of meeting required performance standards while minimizing collection portfolio losses. This role oversees a team who handle specialized calling of a subset of account holders. Specifically, for those client portfolios that require prior experience/knowledge in credit card & loan collections in an effort to collect on past due account and clearly convey all client specific programs through utilizing our automatic dialer system, skip-tracing or manually calling.
Essential Functions:
- Answers questions and assists Specialists with issues regarding policies and procedures
- Interviews potential new hire candidates
- Monitors associate phone calls for quality purposes for compliance and accuracy
- Handles calls that have escalated to a supervisor level
- Provides feedback to Specialists based on their quality, productivity and attendance
- Completes performance evaluations and administers corrective action/counseling as necessary
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or its equivalent education experience required
- Two (2) years of related banking, credit, customer service and or collections experience required
- A minimum of one (1) years’ CardWorks Servicing experience preferred
- Prior supervisory experience desired
Summary of Qualifications:
- Keyboarding proficiency
- Familiarity with Windows based computer applications
- Skilled in negotiating, including the ability to persuade and modify opinions to reach goals
- Mathematical, analytical and decision making skills are vital to success
- Ability to work under pressure; flexibility and willingness to work at a rapid pace
- Possesses strong systems skills and analytical and negotiation skills
- Possesses a solid knowledge of collection laws
- Effectively and efficiently communicate both through verbal and written channels in a way that others are able to understand the information in a manner consistent with the essential job functions
- Ability to multi-task is essential
