POSITION SUMMARY The 2023 Reno Aces Communications Coordinator will join a fast-paced and progressive department pushing the limits in connecting audiences with the company’s brand on and off the field. The position’s primary responsibility will be assisting the Communications Manager with day-to-day duties within the company’s communications department. Experiences will include, but not be limited to, the production of Reno Aces publications, post-game stories on RenoAces.com, feature stories, updating statistical information, and executing media requests. Other duties may be assigned by other departments as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Assist in the production and distribution of daily gameday items, including stat packs, rosters & game notes.
  • Write editorial feature stories in addition to series previews and recaps for the club’s website and gameday program publication.
  • Handle the club’s daily earned media reporting through Critical Mention.
  • Assist in creating engaging player-related content for Reno Aces’ social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook).
  • Write, edit, and distribute press releases related to promotions, game recaps, and upcoming home stands.
  • Write and distribute game recaps for Reno Aces away games as assigned.
  • Coordinate and produce post-game Zoom interviews with the content creator and coaching staff.
  • Work directly with local and national media, representing the team and pitching news stories.
  • Support in the production of the annual information guide.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn daily
  • Strong writing background with exceptional communication skills.
  • Robust knowledge of baseball statistics, trends, and rules.
  • Sound attention to detail and detailed organizational skill
  • Highly skilled AP writing skills, including press releases, recaps, previews, and features.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word & Excel), Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe InDesign & Photoshop), Google Sheets & Docs, and Dropbox.
  • Ability to work all Aces games (home games at Greater Nevada Field and away games remotely).
  • Knowledge of MLB Okta (MLB Reference Tool & Forge), Sports Info Solutions, and Baseball-Reference.
  • Basic skills in video content creation.
  • Spanish-speaking is a plus.

  • Some travel required
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends as required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Must be able to talk, listen and communicate clearly through multiple communications platforms daily
  • Must be able to stand on the concourse during games for 3 hours at a time
