Position Description:
This position supports overall external and internal communications strategy for the University Libraries working in collaboration with the Dean of Libraries, Senior Administrative Team members, the Development Office, and the Office of Communications & Marketing.
This includes but is not limited to:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop communication strategies for University Libraries key messages and stories; Develop and produce marketing & public relations materials, including for fundraising purposes; Research and write content for Libraries newsletters, website, blogs, social media, etc.; Seek additional opportunities for marketing the libraries in collaboration with campus communications and development personnel; Explore and evaluate emerging communication channels; Track and measure user engagement to determine effectiveness of content and communications channels; Create branding resources for use by the libraries administration and units; Facilitate team of library and departmental communications coordinators to develop content ideas and ensure timely distribution of messages; Work with the Dean's Office, unit committees and other personnel to ensure information is shared across the organization in a timely and effective manner; Assist with developing content for SharePoint; Conduct research on relevant communications issues at other academic libraries.

Target Compensation Minimum:
$47,476.00
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.

- Background in communications, marketing, public relations, social media, or event planning.
- Experience working in a higher education or non-profit setting.
- Experience working in an academic library. �
- Experience with design of newsletters, outreach materials or social media graphics.
- Experience with social media management.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and an ability to work successfully with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Creative problems-solving ability.
- Ability to develop and execute an action plan.
- Ability to work effectively in a leadership role, as part of a team and independently.
