COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT/PLANNING/ZONING DIRECTOR Advertisement

The Village of Kronenwetter (Pop. 8,402), located in Marathon County, Wisconsin, seeks a highly motivated and skilled Community Development Director/Zoning Administrator. The Community
Development Director/Zoning Administrator is under the general supervision of the Village
Administrator. The position is responsible for managing all aspects of the Village’s community development and zoning projects. The work will involve reviewing, analyzing, and assessing development proposals to process applications for zoning permits. In addition, the Director will research and analyze the development and transportation plans to ensure consistency with the Village’s
Comprehensive Plan. The position will work closely with the Village’s Redevelopment Authority on the
Village’s four different Tax Increment Districts. The Director will lead the economic development and marketing activities of the Village.

The broad responsibilities of the Community Development Director include:

• Administer the Village’s zoning ordinances; interpret zoning and related ordinances.
• Confer with property owners, public officials, and civic leaders concerning zoning and other unique planning problems.
• Plan, direct, and review professional engineering work in development review, geographic imaging systems (GIS), permits and records, subdivisions.
• Direct the development, implementation, and evaluation of plans, policies, procedures to achieve community development goals, objectives, priorities, and work standards.
• Supervise building inspection operations.
• Work with other staff members to develop and support community events.
• Confer with the Village Administrator, Village Committees and Board, governmental agencies, regulatory boards, and various public groups on proposed projects and improvements.

Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree in Land Use Planning, Public Administration, Civil Engineering, or related fields and two years of experience in Municipal Planning or Civil Engineering or an Associate’s
Degree in Land Use Planning, Public Administration, Civil Engineering, or related fields and five years of experience in Municipal Planning, Civil Engineering, or economic development.

Preferred: Two years of supervisory experience.

Pay & Benefits: This is a full-time, salaried position with a salary range of $65,000 – $85,000 (based on experience). The Village offers participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System and a competitive benefits package. This position is an exempt position under the FLSA and not eligible for overtime pay.
