Computer Network Technologist II Job at PULAU
The Computer Network Technologist II position supports the Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations Maintenance Program (ATMP) contact at Fort Drum, New York. This position primarily supports HITS.
Job duties include:
- Supervises, coordinates and manages the support of the Home station Instrumentation Training System (HITS) to meet training units' requirements.
- Ensures the IS networks are fully operational, in compliance with IA and cybersecurity requirements, and available for scheduled rotational support missions.
- Performs configuration changes, system backup and restore, troubleshoots, and user account administration.
- Makes accurate, timely and complete entries into the AWARE Management Information System (MIS).
- Manages and maintains networks including configuration and loading new system software.
- Sets up Mobile Network Node (MNN) and EXCON to support training along with operating Computer Workstations. Performs Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) on all HITS equipment.
- Provides functional direction team members.
- Manages HITS hardware and software including the system network and the exercise database.
- Supports quality / ISO, security, and safety training programs.
- Safeguards all assigned equipment issued by PULAU Corporation against loss, theft, and damage.
- Will be cross-trained to support other TADSS and may be assigned tasks to support other ATMP contract equipment on the installation, including ranges.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Science or Math or 6 years of equivalent job experience.
- 4 years’ past experience as an Information Systems Technologist or related position.
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Basic knowledge of Windows Servers, Bash shell language, Host-client relationships, Network design and configuration, and Linux.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and be allowed access to the Government Instrumentation System network.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid driver’s license and post driving privileges.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to read and understand manufacturers manuals or technical documents.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
