Duties

  • Develops new or modifies existing methods, approaches, or scientific knowledge to solve challenges
  • Provides information to peers, senior technical leaders, and/or managers within and beyond own organizational unit to influence decisions or recommend solutions
  • Collaborates with technical partners to develop strategies and lead project teams for operations or Research and Development
  • Contributes as lead or key member of the team performing substantive analytical duties in support of the organizational mission
  • Develops or contributes to project plans, including scoping, method evaluation, and development

BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions. For DR-II: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to DR-II/GS-12/13 level in the Federal service or equivalent in other pay systems that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is in or related to the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience include comprehensive knowledge and mastery of methods and practices in identifying, formulating, evaluating, nurturing and promoting the generation and exchange of new theories, concepts, principles, methods, applications, and practices; mastery in utilizing programming languages such as Python and R to develop custom solutions to analytical problems. Candidates should also display mastery in applying systems thinking concepts and techniques and quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques, including knowledge in and experience building and running AFSIM scenarios. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the DR-II/GS-12/13 broadband position in the federal service.

Education
The following education may be substituted, in lieu of experience, to meet the minimum qualification required at the DR-II broadband level:

Basic Requirement: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.

While unofficial transcripts are acceptable for initial application, an official transcript will ultimately be required if you are selected for the position. You may submit a copy of your degree(s) if specific coursework does not have to be verified.
