Job Description
The Patient Access Coordinator is responsible for organizing communications, interacting with customers, providers and patients related to case status and coordination. This role is assistive in nature and receives delegation from licensed staff. The collaboration or partnership between the Patient Access Coordinator and staff members is key to ensuring a safe, patient-centered work environment.
Essential Functions:
- Answers phone calls and questions from clients, medical staff, and co-workers.
- Provides case updates, facilitates scheduling or hospital staff communication
- Facilitates bed placement and arrangement of transportation for patients.
- Assists at the direction of the RN.
Required Minimum Education:
- Diploma
- Preferred Education:
- Associates degree in health or informatics related
Minimum Qualifications:
- Customer service & medical terminology
- preferred experience:
- office administration & EPIC
- IT requirements minimum internet speed of primary and secondary work locations is download speed of 100Mbps and upload speed of 20 Mbps
