Job Description
The Utah Office of Tourism is seeking a highly-creative Content Marketing Strategist to help lead the creation, development, and delivery of compelling content to support our key campaigns and initiatives. This position will work collaboratively with the entire team to develop creative briefs, content plans, and provide creative leadership to our internal team. Content development includes digital, social, video, photography, graphic design and print.
We are looking for a problem-solver with experience in content creation and user experience to lead content strategy efforts for the Utah Office of Tourism. This is a key role in the Office, and we're looking for a team player who can move us forward in developing a compelling content strategy that supports the campaigns and activities that will increase visitation while promoting responsible travel.
You will work collaboratively with the entire team to translate our marketing strategy into engaging and compelling content.
Principal Duties

Oversee the creation, delivery, lifecycle and governance of content - digital, video, photography, print, etc. in collaboration with internal stakeholders, freelancers and agencies.

Review and approve all creative materials to ensure they are consistent with the company's brand standards and messaging.

Advise on advertising and marketing campaigns as it relates to content strategy and distribution.

Build, implement, and support processes needed to facilitate content development and distribution across integrated marketing channels.

Continuously audit and optimize existing content at scale.

Develop messaging frameworks and content strategies that will support increased visitation and responsible visitor behavior.

Audit communication channels for voice, tone, flow, readability and make recommendations.

Manage contracted content projects and freelance pool: video, photography, etc.

Work with the Web & Content manager to drive UX/UI decisions on VisitUtah.com and across other marketing touchpoints.

Lead the creation of new print publications (Ex. one-sheeters, magazine editorials, travel guide, brochures).

Provide production and strategy support on multimedia video and social content creation on a project-by-project basis.

Maintain internal and public-facing asset libraries. Ensure photo licenses and usage agreements are enforced. Perform necessary keywording, captioning and organization to make files easy to find for internal and external end users.

Collaborate with tourism partners around the state and other state agencies to guide content creation and distribution.

Experience with content auditing and optimization of existing content at a large scale.

Experience collaborating on a large, highly-trafficked website.

Has experience with user experience and user research.

Technical skills as it relates to digital marketing, creative file management. This includes a large photo and video library, organizing media assets and maintenance.

Strong creative writing skills.

Ability to formulate and present strategic recommendations.

Experience with visual brand management.

Ability to manage freelance video and photo productions.

Working understanding of copyright law as it pertains to image licensing, usage, and redistribution.
Education, Experience, and Training

A bachelor’s degree with major course work in business, marketing, communications, public relations or related field -OR- an equivalent combination of education, experience and training that would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the successful performance of the essential job duties.

Minimum of three years of experience developing content for integrated marketing campaigns.

Competent using Google Workspace, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other communication tools.
