About the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities – Tiffin Developmental Center
The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) is a trauma informed care agency. We offer a state-wide system of supportive services that focus on ensuring health and safety, supporting access to community participation and increasing opportunities for meaningful employment. Tiffin Developmental Center is located in the northwest region of Ohio and is home to both adults and youth with developmental disabilities.
What You'll Do as a Cook 1:
- Preparing (e.g. cleaning, cutting, slicing, mixing & texturizing) and cooking (e.g. baking, boiling & grilling) food for the individuals residing at the facility according to prescribed diets.
- Operation of commercial kitchen equipment.
- Storage of food with attention to expiration dates.
- Cleaning work area, equipment & utensils.
Hours of work are from 8:00AM - 4:30PM Monday through Friday with a 1/2 hour unpaid meal break. This is a part-time position with an estimated 32 hours per week.

Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation & storage; addition, subtraction, multiplication & division. Skill in operation of kitchen equipment. Ability to understand system of procedures; read recipes; lift up to 50 lbs. (*)Developed after employment.
