Title: Early Childhood Education Cook (Entry Level)

We are currently seeking a FT Cook with a proposed schedule of 7:30am-4:30pm

Responsibilities:

• Prepares, produces, heats, cooks, bakes and serves a variety of foods.
• Sets up and merchandizes food and food service areas.
• Operates Kitchen Equipment and utilizes kitchen utensils.
• Receive, label and store food.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen items.
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly deep cleaning of the facility, service areas and kitchen equipment.
• Disposes of waste according to food services operating procedure, OSHA and the state health department.
• Any other duties assigned by the Center Director.

Skills:

• Experience in childcare preferred
• Knowledge of or ability to learn early childhood education standards
• Ability to create a positive learning environment for children
• Communication skills that reflect professionalism and kindness at all times
• Proactive and team-oriented attitude to create a successful team environment
• Must be able to maintain a strict classroom schedule to ensure state "ratio" compliance

Qualifications:

• Must pass background and TB screening.
• Have or be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR Certification.
• Must be minimum of 18 years old.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent periods of standing, stooping, bending, and occasional running.
• Work in refrigerated areas.
• Withstand a wide range of temperatures.
• Able to work a full assigned shift in order to maintain ratios.

Certifications/Licensing:

• High School Diploma
• Retaining Food Manager Certification after hire
