Position Description
Under the supervision of the Director of Student Equity and Engagement, the Student Equity Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Center at the main campus and represent the Center at Chino and Fontana. This includes the coordination and oversight of the workflow for Center's programming and events. This position has a high level of independent decision-making and judgment.
Responsibilities
Assist in the supervision of the day-to-day operations of the Center for Culture and Social Justice.
Assist the Director in planning, scheduling, developing and implementing new programming for cultural and social justice events for the Center, both in-person and online.
Provide information and assistance to district employees, students, and others where judgment, knowledge, and interpretation of Center events, campus resources and information.
Select, oversee and train short-term workers and student workers assigned to the Center for Culture and Social Justice.
Partner with Student Life Dean to support civic engagement efforts as necessary.
Coordinate, plan and staff Chaffey College Multicultural Graduation Celebrations.
Serve as a partner with Chaffey College's BLOOM to integrate programming as needed in the Center for Culture and Social Justice.
Oversee and assign Chaffey College Student Design Team, ensuring representation by students and feedback happens regularly.
Assist with the budget and reconciliation for equity funding, including but not limited to budget funding for LGBTQIA+, Undocumented, Veteran, Panther Care funds, as needed.
Provide programming support to Veteran's Resource Center, both in-person and online.
Responsible for updating Center for Culture and Social Justice website page; and updating CRM Advise software as needed.
Responsible for scheduling Success Coaches and coordinating their assignments/ expected outcomes.
Assist in the development and implementation of projects and events.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Clear evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Bachelor's from an accredited institution preferably in Communications, Social Justice, or a related field.
At least one (1) year of increasingly responsible experience in equity work preferably in a community college setting.
Demonstrated knowledge of basic principles and methods of information systems and operations.
Experience in training techniques.
Ability to:
Assist in the planning, organization, and administration of the processes and operations of the Center for Culture and Social Justice.
Provide technical expertise regarding assigned functions.
Understand and follow oral and written directions.
Direct the maintenance of a variety of reports and files related to assigned activities.
Interact with diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Work under diverse situations.
Meet schedules and deadlines.
Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
Work independently with little direction.
Maintain records and prepare reports.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Working hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm. Must be willing to work evening hours, weekends, and alternate schedules as needed.
