The State Correctional Institution at Chester is looking to hire an enthusiastic, self-motivated, creative person with the required experience to work as a Corrections Activities Specialist. As a Corrections Activities Specialist for the Department of Corrections, you will be responsible for organizing, instructing and supervising inmate programs, leisure time activities, inmate work crews and sports within your assigned institution.
You will be responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and teaching programs at all levels of interest and ability in the areas of sports, games, creative and performing arts, and social recreation. You will be coaching or assisting in the coaching of various sports (basketball, soccer, power lifting, etc.) and demonstrating basic sports techniques and fitness equipment. You will be responsible for supervising inmate organizations and self help groups.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment; 40 hours/week.- Work hours are 12:00pm to 8:30pm, Sunday - Thursday, with 30-minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree with major course work in recreation and physical education; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
