POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Position: Cosmetology Instructor

Exempt, Certified, Teacher, Full-Time, 10-month Staff

District Employee Assigned to Afton Campus

Starting Date: August 1, 2023

Reports to: Campus Director

Schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, with a 50-minute lunch break.

Compensation

Package: $53,973 - $67,830 annual minimum salary, commensurate with experience. Health, dental, vision, paid life insurance, and teachers’ retirement paid; flexible benefits plan; sick leave, vacation, and paid holidays. The total minimum compensation package is approximately $73,973 - $87,830 minimum annually.

Primary

Function: In order to promote quality career and technology training, responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to facilitating and instructing students. Deliver course content according to Northeast Tech policy and Career Tech guidelines, provide accurate recording of student hours, proficiencies, and competencies, and provide students with the necessary support for success in their chosen careers.

Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology Master Instructor’s license as defined by the Oklahoma Board of Cosmetology.

Experience: Experience and competency in the following areas are needed: Must have five (5) years of recent cosmetology experience, experience teaching high school and/or adult students in a lab-type environment is desirable; excellent communications and human relations skills especially with co-workers and adult students; proficiency in record keeping, prioritizing, and scheduling; ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and discretion in performance of duties; know the importance of confidentiality.
