Costume Shop Overhire

Steppenwolf Theatre Company is seeking applications for temporary overhire positions in the Costume Shop. This is a rolling application: applicants will be considered for various projects as needed throughout the 2022/2023 Season.

This position reports to the Costume Shop Director.

Areas of Responsibility:

• Costume Technicians: Work in a team environment to build and alter a wide variety of costumes for Steppenwolf and outside projects.
• Costume Assistants: Work in a team environment to realize costume design for Steppenwolf and outside projects. Duties may include but are not limited to paperwork, shopping, organizing fittings, sourcing, and pulling from stock.

Desired Qualifications:

• Good time management and organization.
• Strong verbal communication.

• Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
• Hand and machine sewing. (technicians only)
