Position Summary

The University of Denver is seeking an experienced, talented and ambitious Creative Manager for a full-time position in the Office of Communications, Marketing, Graduate Admissions and Events (OCMGAE) at the Daniels College of Business. This person is responsible for executing all brand collateral and stewarding the brand for the College, including but not limited to creating and producing print and digital assets from conception to completion. This is a terrific opportunity to join a dynamic team responsible for the graduate enrollment, brand development, internal and external marketing, internal and external communications, and internal events for the College. The Creative Manager reports to the Senior Director of Marketing of OCMGAE.

Essential Functions

Graphic Design

  • Serve as the primary graphic designer for the College, executing digital ads, print placements, departmental one-pagers, recruiting brochures and more; manage timelines for all design projects
  • Assist in interpreting University brand standards for the College in design pieces
  • Work with/manage contract designers to develop and execute creative for materials while maintaining marketing and brand positioning strategy
  • Design and review logos made by student groups and University-wide units like Entrepreneurship@DU

Branding

  • Direct, interpret and maintain brand identity, including the development of new branding guidelines in alignment with the University’s brand
  • Manage swag requests from the departments and work with our vendor to manage inventory and production of College-wide items
  • Oversee the Daniels brand guidelines website
  • Review the design work of internal departments; provide guidance and approvals
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across the College to produce branded pieces
  • Ensure visual communication and brand standards are met
  • Partner with senior director of marketing and the College’s agency of record to execute strategic marketing initiatives and review creative assets

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have strong experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook skills
  • Ability to develop a deep understanding of a brand and its challenges
  • Writing and editing skills
  • Personable and diplomatic in working with diverse constituency and staff
  • Strong organizational skills; keen attention to detail
  • Ability to foster a collaborative environment
  • Ability to work effectively while managing multiple projects/priorities

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, design or related discipline, or two additional years of relevant work experience
  • 3 years’ experience with graphic design
  • 1 year experience managing a brand
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience with graphic design
  • Project management experience – Wrike is a plus
  • Email marketing tools like Anthology or Emma
  • Experience in a college or university marketing communications environment

Working Environment

1. Standard office environment.
2. Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
3. Noise level is quiet to moderate

Physical Activities

1. Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time.
2. Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.

Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 10.

Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $60,000-$70,000

The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
