Credentialing Specialist Job at Carpenter Health Network
With our continued growth, The Carpenter Health Network is ready to add a Credentialing Specialist to our team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana!
The Credentialing Specialist will be responsible for coordinating, monitoring and maintaining the credentialing and re-credentialing process of ancillary providers. Maintain up-to-date data for each provider and ensure timely renewal of licenses and certifications.

Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain CAQH accounts
- Compiles and maintains current and accurate data for all providers
- Works with TCHN in house legal department on licensure and follow up for providers,
- Works with TCHN in house legal department on Medicare provider enrollment and re-validation services,
- Tracks license and certification expirations of all TCHN providers to ensure timely renewals
- Completes provider credentialing and re-credentialing applications; monitors applications and follow-up as needed
- Maintains copies of current state licenses (CDS, DEA, CLIA, etc.), malpractice coverage and any other required credentialing documents for all providers
- Maintains corporate provider contract files
- Maintains knowledge of current health plan requirements for credentialing providers
- Sets up and maintains provider information in TCHN system
- Periodically audits health plan directories for current and accurate provider information
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of government/ Medicare/ Regulatory Agency requirements relating to credentialing
- Minimum six years’ experience in healthcare with four years directly related to hospital medical staff or managed care credentialing
- Knowledge of medical practices, terminology and credentialing requirements
- Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred
- Planning and project organization/administration skills
- Skill in exercising initiative, solving problems, executing timelines, and making decisions
- Ability to communicate professionally and appropriately with clients, managers, and co-workers
- Basic computer skills: MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
