Forest Lawn is seeking a Crematory Operator to join our distinguished and talented team in the Coachella Valley.
The Crematory Operator will assist with the general tasks of the Crematory and help make a difference for our families by helping with the identification process, logging and procedures and cremation of decedents.
Duties will also include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintaining accurate record keeping of daily cremations, burial permits, work orders, cremation identification cards/tags for caskets and deceased and crematory release check list forms.
  • Assisting in cleaning and maintaining crematory, preparing accounting reports and complying with all safety and legal regulations.
  • Directing Funeral Services in or outside the park, graveside services, and witness to placement or cremated remains to the satisfaction of the clients while maintaining the high standards of Forest Lawn.
Requirements:
  • One year general mortuary and/or crematory experience preferred. I ncluding: cremations, inurnment, picking up remains in Crematory van, identification procedures, logging burials at sea, and preparing accounting reports.
  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • The ability to lift 100lbs.
  • Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision and have excellent customer service skills and be extremely detail oriented.

DRUG TESTING POLICY

The drug screening method is a hair collection test that will detect the use of illegal drugs within the past 90 days. A positive drug test may result in the withdrawal of the job offer.
