Electricians Assistant (Crew Leader)

Fast growing family-owned company based in Boiling Springs, NC is looking to hire an electrician assistant willing to advance into a crew leader position. Robert Prince Electric services Brunswick County electrical needs of new construction, rewires, and service calls.

This position has 40 hours guaranteed with possible overtime for eager and dedicated employees. Daily meetings with management provide learning and growth opportunities in the industry. Other benefits include:

Standard Requirements:

• Possession of a valid Driver’s License with a driving record acceptable to the Company’s automobile insurance provider.
• Good Moral Character is required.
• Two (2) years’ experience in residential electrical industry.
• Own personal hand tools.

With a knowledge of:

• Basic principles of general maintenance and operation.
• Standard knowledge of practices, materials, tools, and equipment.
• The basic knowledge and understanding of the National Electric Code, as well as state and local ordinances.
• The applicable safety and accident prevention procedures of the Occupational Safety and Health Act.

Essential Skills/Abilities:

• Safely operate and maintain company vehicle, tools, equipment, and materials.
• Learn to read and interpret maps, electrical and engineering drawings, diagrams, sketches, plans, specifications, work instructions and safety labels.
• Distinguish colors.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships at all organizational levels as well as with the public.
• Operate a Company vehicle and/or equipment observing legal and defensive driving practices.
• Punctuality and attendance.

Position Responsibilities:

• Assist in installing electrical systems, at or below 240 watts.
• Install low voltage coax, and data wiring.
• Install lighting, electrical outlets, and circuit breakers.
• Use tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, knives, hacksaws, and wire strippers.
• Replace faulty circuit breakers, fuses, switches, electrical and electronic components, or wire.
• Replace old fuse boxes.
• Hook up appliances for power.
• Install new lighting and ceiling fans.
• Consult with engineers, engineering technicians, line installers and repairers, and maintenance workers when performing installations.
• Rewire homes and businesses.
• Assist in home inspections.

Working Conditions:

· Heavy lifting of supplies and materials up to 100 pounds.

• Use of hazardous materials.
• Possess the physical strength and agility to work outdoors in adverse climatic weather conditions.
• Works in an environment with exposure to dust, dirt, and/or weed abatement chemicals.
• May stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Possess the physical characteristics to perform the critical and important duties of the job, including the ability to climb stationary ladders up to 32 feet in height, and work in confined spaces.

Travel:

· The nature of the position requires travel within Brunswick County.
