Teufel Landscape is looking to hire a Landscape Maintenance Crew Lead to join our commercial landscape division. This position is required to follow the direction of the Account Manager in the contracted maintenance of our clients’ grounds. The Crew takes a pro-active approach with a key role in customer communications and hands on maintenance solutions.

This is a full-time position, based out SW Portland. Experience in landscape maintenance with special skills in fine Gardening, trimming of plants, grooming of shrubs and small trees is required.

Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.

$22 - $24 per hour DOE

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Supervise a small maintenance crew on a daily basis
• Communicate with Clients on a daily basis
• Regularly moves and lifts heavy objects such as, but not limited to: Barrels, tarps, small tree limbs and lawncare equipment
• Typically bends, stoops and crouches on a regular basis to adjust machinery, pick up trash, debris and perform other duties.
• Frequently engages in tasks that require repetitive motion and positions for long periods of time.
• Frequently does maintenance tasks that require good concentration and attention to detail
• Regularly operates equipment in public places around other people that requires operator to be constantly aware of personal and others’ safety.
• Consistently performs tasks that require attention to detail such as weeding beds, dead heading, and planting annual flowers to specific design standards.
• Constantly, required to monitor time spent per assigned task as each jobsite task is bid based on time to complete task.
• Continuously must monitor quality of work performed.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES & TASKS

The principal duties are duties that you will be required to perform on a daily basis, however this job is not solely limited to only these duties and tasks. Other duties may be assigned as is necessary to meet our customer's, and the company’s needs.

1. Strong communication with team members and customers

2. Fine Gardening, that involves pruning and trimming of plants, shrubs and small trees

3. Ability to drive Truck with Trailer

4. Handling Burlaps, Tarps and large plastic trash cans filled with yard debris

5. Hand Weeding, fine grooming of flower and shrub beds

6. Operating Power equipment such as Blower, edger, 21" mower, string trimmer, power shears

7. Ability to work within a team environment, with professional communication skills in all types of weather conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
This position requires good physical condition and dexterity in the use of simple hand tools and equipment. Besides the normal landscape maintenance duties of mowing, edging, blowing and trimming, this position requires fine gardening skills and experience. The worker should understand the use of assorted tools/equipment in the performance of their duties; this position reports directly to the Account Manager.

• Driver License
• Ability to drive truck

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent education or experience.

Language Skills:

• None, However bilingual English Spanish is beneficial

Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to practical problems.

Physical Requirements:

• Sit, Stand, Walk, Lift up to 50 lbs.
