The employee in this position will work with school-age and young adults at Trask River High School located in the Tillamook Youth Correctional Facility, teaching career and science-oriented knowledge and skills with an agricultural focus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher
• Willing to pursue or currently holds a valid Oregon Teaching License and/or CTE Agricultural Science License through Teacher Standards & Practices Commission (TSPC)
• Willingness to provide innovative, alternative-style education, and develop hope and skills for school-age and older youth in a youth correctional setting.
• Agricultural, Gardening, Farming, Horticulture, Landscaping, Poultry and or other experience and knowledge preferred
• Ability to plan and conduct lessons using an environmentally green approach.
• Working knowledge of technology and computer literacy is preferred
• Ability to establish positive relationships with students and staff
• Professional educator with a passion for the content and an ability to inspire students
• Ability to actively engage all students in the learning process
• Experience with trauma informed and culturally/linguistically relevant practices preferred

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Estimated start date – July 3, 2023
• 1.0 FTE – 220-day contract (190+30 days)
• 190 day base salary of $42,880 - $77,446 with an additional 30 days’ pay. Dependent on years of teaching experience and college credits as per the TEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
