HMK. is a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) company that has been proudly serving many counties in Southern California for over 20 years. HMK Medical Transport currently has offices in Pomona and Montclair

HMK is looking for a Customer Service Intaker in our San Leandro office to answer phones and input data into our billing system. Many of our patients are disabled and may need to be transported by wheelchair or gurney so empathy is key in this critical customer facing position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answer phones (high volume) and route information to appropriate departments.
  • Assist scheduling/confirming appointments.
  • Work closely with the billing team to process accurate and timely billing information through our software systems.
  • Demonstrate empathy and understanding for clients (children, seniors, individuals with handicaps or illness)
  • Document operations appropriately and follow Company policies.
  • Provide excellent and effective communication and customer service both internally and to clients and Network Providers/Medical Facilities.
  • Most important inputting / scheduling patients into Symed application
  • Using the gathered information to guide them to the right service, department or office using critical thinking skills
  • Obtaining emergency contact information.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, along with the ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must have a positive attitude, good communication skills and be empathetic and polite.
  • Effective written and oral communications skills
  • Moderate skills in MS Word, Excel, & Smart Phone Applications •
  • Prior experience as a receptionist or prior experience with customer service is a plus, but not required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
