Bayer Research and Development Services LLC’s Chesterfield, MO, seeks a Data Scientist Genomics & Environmental Dynamics. This is a hybrid work-from-home position that will develop predictive models that leverage genetic, environmental, and phenotypic data for superior crop design. Will also: (i) explore, manage, and model large and diverse datasets; (ii) design and prototype models using diverse techniques that include, but are not limited to, AI, deep learning, machine learning, data mining, and statistical modeling; (iii) utilize analytical and data science techniques to evaluate and solve complex business problems; (iv) assist with research design, execution, and analysis to enable high quality data-driven decisions; and (v) building cross-functional relationships to collaboratively partner with interdisciplinary scientists, IT, and engineering professionals across the organization to solve critical problems and answering important questions that drive key decisions for our business.

This position is remote within the United States, but the employee must be able to work in the Chesterfield office two (2) days per week.

Must have a PhD (or foreign equivalent degree) in Genetics, Biostatistics, Plant Breeding, Genomics, or a directly related field plus two (2) years of experience in a related position.

Experience must include two (2) years: (i) using experimental design and statistical methods and models used for agricultural data; (ii) incorporating statistical models to inform how to collect, analyze, and leverage complex biological datasets and translate them into testable hypotheses; (iii) conducting exploratory data analysis and modeling using Python and R for scientific research; (iv) applying machine learning, statistical & mathematical algorithms to analyze large datasets, quantitative genetics, and functional phenomics; (v) communicating analytical insights & technical information to technical and non-technical audiences; and (vi) working collaboratively in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to achieve common goals.

Experience can be concurrent.
