Evelyn Street Day School in Paramus is seeking to hire a part time, late afternoon (3:00 to 6:00) assistant who is available Monday through Friday. Presently, it is a part time position that may go to full time (9 to 6) soon. Candidates should enjoy children and have experience working with children in a daycare setting.

Our enrollment is growing and we need to increase our staff. Come join us as we grow to our pre-pandemic enrollment.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and interact with children in a safe and compassionate manner
• Keep children safe and clean throughout the day
• Devise and implement creative activities to assist with child development
• Create a positive and nurturing environment for children
• Perform a variety of tasks, such as cleaning and sanitizing equipment and interacting and engaging with children
• Complete and submit required paperwork and forms in a timely manner
• Follow staff handbook policies, regulations and guidelines
• Administer first aid and medication when necessary
• Address children, co-workers, parents, and administration in a respectful manner
• Be punctual, reliable, dependent, focused, professional, flexible and engaging.

Qualifications:

• Must complete the skills test
• Must have previous daycare experience
• Passionate about working with children
• Ability to build rapport with children and their parents, co-workers and administration
• Positive and patient demeanor
• Possess techniques for classroom management
• Speak, read and write English, fluently
• Be knowledgeable about child development
• Clear a fingerprint and background check
• Be fully Covid vaccinated
• Must have own transportation

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.13 - $16.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
Children are snt home as soon as a symptom appears. Hands are washed constantly. Manipulatives are disinfected nightly as are tables and chairs in the rooms.

• Paramus, NJ 07652: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
