Position Description
Assist Dean by preparing correspondence, within the School of Law, the University, current students, staff, faculty and alumni, and the local and national communities.� Schedule Dean's appointments and meetings within the School of Law, with alumni, with donors, and with community leaders. Maintain Dean's Office files and records. Maintain very complex and constantly changing calendar.� Prepare national, local and university reports, including the School of Law ABA site visit accreditation report and annual reports.� Assist the Dean with the collection and maintenance of faculty annual reviews and workplans.� Maintain confidential faculty and staff personnel files, as well as confidential communications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct all administrative functions on behalf of the Dean: manage a complex calendar; schedule meetings; write correspondence; answer emails; prepare reports including but not limited to the accreditation reports; handle items of confidential nature; and prepare faculty meeting agendas and faculty meeting minutes.
Compile and maintain Unit Bylaws and Unit Policy Binder.
Prepare and complete all faculty documents for faculty new hires including P103 and P104 forms, promotions, reappointments, tenure, etc., for processing through the Interfolio RPT system for submission to Faculty Affairs.
Serve as an integral part of the entire faculty interview and hiring process including candidate communications, logistics of scheduling on site interviews, etc.
Prepare tenure-line approval requests through OnBase submission program.
Decanal search and reviews.
Supervise Events Coordinator and indirectly supervise two staff support personnel in Dean's office.
Submit numerous university reports including faculty publications in Endnote, community engagement, etc.�
Assist with the confidential communications of final disposition of Honor Code violations.
Log all monies received in checks or cash as part of the three-prong security requirement of Business Operations.
Communicate professionally and respectfully within the unit and across campus and serve as liaison with central offices on campus such as HR and Faculty Affairs office.

Typing of 55 wpm, MS Word, working knowledge of Excel, and familiarity of university software programs.� Excellent written and oral communication skills required.� Previous experience in working with executive level preferred.� Must be able to communicate effectively within the School of Law, the University, and the community. Must be able to adapt to new situations in a positive manner and respond appropriately.� Must respond appropriately to learning and applying new skills. Must be comfortable handling confidential materials and information. Customer service experience, i.e. taking care of someone's needs by providing and delivering professional, helpful, and high quality assistance before, during, and after their requirements are met, is essential.��
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
