Hi! We're Ethel's Bagels (soon to be Ethel's Delicatessen). Started during the COVID pandemic, we are a three-year-old family-owned business that serves bagels, sandwiches, pastries, and traditional Jewish food to the Bay Area via farmers markets, wholesale, and catering channels. We are beyond excited that our first Petaluma retail location will be opening in a couple of weeks. We are proud of our fantastic team, our community of customers, and our use of organic and local ingredients all of which contributed to being named among the "Top Bagels in the Bay Area" by the San Francisco Chronicle.
We are looking for a Deli Sandwich/Bagel Maker to join our team as we open our storefront location. This person will be responsible for prepping, preparing, and producing sandwiches, salads, soups, and other kitchen items for customers, meeting our high quality and local standards.

Essential Functions include:
- Set up the sandwich/soup/salad stations and stock them with necessary prep supplies
- Prepare food to order and as needed
- Cut, mix, chop, and make sauces
- Put together and produce sandwiches, salads, soups, and more.
- Use the toaster, bagel/bread cutter, panini press, and any other kitchen equipment
- Assist the prep cook or help out with any other duties asked of you by the manager on duty
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards that comply with local, state and federal law including sanitizing your workspace at regular intervals
- Ensure all food and other items are handled and stored adequately, with proper FIFO rotation
- Take inventory counts and complete tasks as asked by the owner or manager on duty
Requirements:
- Holds a current food handler’s card and any other certification required by federal/state/local law
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly: $18 + dependent on experience
