North Helpline works to make sure our neighbors have food on their tables and a roof over their heads. We do this by partnering with our neighbors to help build a community for all. North Helpline strives to provide services that are both accessible to and relevant for the wide cultural and demographic diversity reflected in our community. North Helpline’s Food programs provide substantial food resources to approximately 1,400 unique households (comprised of more than 3,500 individuals) in and around North Seattle/King County. Our Home Delivery program partners with community members and organizations to serve over 250 households that are unable to come to our regular distributions. This member will create and manage a list of clients along with their dietary requirements to ascertain which items should be packed. Using this information, the Home Delivery Coordinate will collaborate closely with the warehouse staff to determine what foods should be offered. This member will be responsible for overseeing a group of four to six volunteers as the boxes are assembled. This is an AmeriCorps national service position. This position is contingent upon funding and open until filled.
Member Duties : The Home Delivery Coordinator AmeriCorps member will directly support the mission of North Helpline by organizing the Home Delivery program, adding clients, packing boxes of groceries and ensuring timely delivery. Partner closely with the warehouse staff to prepare boxes to be delivered to clients who are unable to attend our regular distribution; Identify items to be packed and create curated boxes to meet needs; Create and manage a list of neighbors and their dietary requirements; Oversee a group of four to six volunteers as the boxes are assembled; Coordinate with partner organizations as well as serve with volunteer drivers to have boxes delivered; Use spreadsheets and shared drives to create weekly paperwork; Send regular communication to volunteers, neighbors and partner organizations. Serve with neighbors who are unable to come to our regular distribution or participate in home delivery.
