Dental Assistant FT Job at New England Dental Partners
Job Summary
Under direct and indirect supervision, a dental assistant is responsible for providing your patients with high-quality, compassionate care by performing a variety of office, laboratory, and exam room duties. Some functions include preparing the patient for a procedure or exam, sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays/materials, and assisting during dental procedures. Overall dedication to patient and practice support including personal assistance, medical attention, and emotional support.
Essential Abilities and Skills
- Detail-oriented to work efficiently in small spaces and maintain patient comfort
- Gain excellence in forward-thinking to anticipate the needs of the doctor as well as the patient
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Use of active listening - giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate
- Capacity to maintain a professional demeanor and attitude while working in any procedure, including unpleasant ones
- Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality to HIPAA standards
- Adhere to strict safety guidelines and procedures to OSHA and office standards

Qualifications Required
- High School, GED, or HiSET diploma
- Diploma or certificate from a CODA-accredited dental assisting program
- Must have state licensure - RDA- Registered Dental Assistant
- Preferred two years of dental practice experience
