INTERNAL/EXTERNAL COUNTY OPENING

JOB TITLE: DEPUTY SHERIFF

DEPARTMENT: SHERIFF’S OFFICE – AIRPORT DIVISION

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Basic Structural Fire Fighter Certification or higher preferred.

2. Texas Department of State Health Services Emergency Medical Technician-basic or higher preferred.

3. TCLEOSE Basic Peace Officer preferred or ability to successfully complete the TCLEOSE Basic Peace Officer course and attain a Texas Basic Peace Officer License.

4. Ability to successfully complete the TCFP Basic Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter course and attain a Basic ARFF certification.

5. Must be able to successfully pass Medical, Psychological, and Drug Screen testing.

6. Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.

7. Must be of good moral character.

EXAMPLES OF JOB DUTIES:

1. Perform all fire, rescue and EMS duties and responsibilities related to a Texas Certified Structural Fire Fighter.

2. Perform all rescue, and EMS duties and responsibilities related to a Texas Certified EMT.

3. Perform all fire, rescue, and EMS duties and responsibilities related to a Texas Certified Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter.

4. Perform all law enforcement duties and responsibilities related to a Texas Peace Officer.

5. Identify suspects, perform custodial arrests, and book into jail.

6. Document required information, complete reports as required related to assigned duties.

7. Enforce all state criminal laws, traffic laws, and other laws as applicable.

8. Any other duties as may be assigned by the Sheriff, Chief Deputy, or Supervisor.

SALARY: $50,880.00/ANNUALLY – Plus Certification Pay

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,880.00 per year
