In this position...
Drive “Voice of Manufacturing” throughout product development lifecycle to ensure robust, feasible, and manufacturable stamping die designs.
Conduct stamping die design feasibility assessment in a CAD environment and coordinate between product development and manufacturing teams to lead resolution of manufacturing feasibility concerns.
Participate in the development and evaluation of production stamping die designs with suppliers.
What you'll do...
Work closely with Ford Product Design engineering (PD) and Vehicle Operations Manufacturing Engineering teams (VOME), in all phases of stamping die design development, manufacturing feasibility, and process intent.
Perform die design virtual reviews for comprehensive manufacturing and process feasibility.
Coordinate information and review supplier deliverables meet design WDX Standards.
You'll have...
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or combination of education or equivalent experience.
5+ years of die design or related experience
Even better, you may have...
Practical CAD experience, CATIA V5, NX, and TeamCenter a plus.
7+ years of die design or related experience. Must be capable of conducting die design virtual review assessments.
Experience with casting and machining processes. Highly motivated self-starter capable of delivering objectives with minimal direct supervision.
Experience in coordinating with multiple suppliers.
5+ years of automotive manufacturing experience.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
