Job Summary:
The Desktop Technician will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end-users in a onsite environment in downtown Denver. This role requires expertise in resolving Level 1 technical issues, computer imaging, and setting up new PCs. The successful candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, excellent communication abilities, and a customer-oriented approach to ensure the smooth operation of desktop systems.
Responsibilities:
Provide first-level technical support to end-users in person, via phone, or through ticketing systems.
Resolve Level 1 technical issues related to hardware, software, and peripherals, including troubleshooting problems, identifying causes, and applying appropriate solutions.
Image computers with standardized software and configurations, ensuring compatibility and compliance with organizational policies.
Set up and deploy new PCs for end-users, ensuring proper installation of operating systems, software applications, and network connectivity.
Perform hardware and software upgrades, replacements, and repairs for desktops, laptops, and peripherals as required.
Assist users with basic network connectivity and printer-related issues.
Collaborate with IT team members to escalate and resolve complex technical issues beyond Level 1 support.
Maintain accurate records of support requests, actions taken, and resolutions achieved in ticketing or knowledge management systems.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or associate degree in a related field is a plus.
Proven experience as a desktop technician or similar role, preferably in an onsite support environment.
Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and productivity applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
Proficiency in imaging computers using tools like Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) or other deployment solutions.
Familiarity with Active Directory, group policies, and user management.
Experience in setting up and configuring PCs, laptops, and peripherals.
Excellent troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
Ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical end-users.
Strong customer service skills with a patient and empathetic approach.
Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Physical ability to lift and move computer equipment when necessary.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $40.00 - $43.00 per hour
