Tuesday - Friday | 6:30AM - 5:00PM

Position Overview: The Diesel Mechanic B is responsible for performing preventative maintenance on a variety of trucks, trailers, service trucks and other company vehicles. Typically, each B level mechanic will do everything on the equipment that their experience and skills allow. Often you will start with an A or B service but as you find additional repairs needed, you will take care of those items too as long as you are able. At any 10 Roads Shop you will be surrounded by a team of mechanics all at different levels of knowledge and experience. We are proud to provide an environment where it is encouraged and expected that others will step in to guide, support, and train you on items where you might not be as proficient. As time goes on and as you grow in your own proficiency, you will have not only had opportunity to do the same but additionally you WILL have opportunities to advance and grow within.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

• Perform preventative maintenance on class 8 tractor semis as well as straight trucks, dry van trailers, company cars, service trucks and other equipment.
• Annual FHWA inspections on both trucks and trailers
• Repair and maintenance on tires, air drum and disc brakes, wheel seals, light repairs, trailer door repairs, ABS, etc…
• Complete required paperwork and enter data into maintenance software after each job
• Perform assigned tasks in compliance with company policies and procedures

Job Requirements:

• 2+ years’ experience on heavy duty tractors and trailers
• Basic knowledge of Diesel engines, ABS, air brakes, exhaust, electrical, tires, etc…
• High School Diploma/GED, Trade or Vocational Training preferred
• Proficient in basic computer skills
• Must have adequate tools to perform tasks required
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position (lifting up to 100+ lbs., bending, climbing, standing for duration of shift, etc.)
• Driver’s License is preferred
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check test.
• Effectively read, write & understand verbal instructions in English
