GATR Truck Center is seeking to hire a full-time DIESEL MECHANIC in our WATERLOO IA location to perform Heavy/Medium/Light Truck repair and maintenance work. PRIMARY DUTIES WILL CONSIST OF BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with accuracy
• Diagnoses complaints and malfunctions on repair orders and documents findings in detail
• Communicates with Parts Department on local procedures to obtain needed parts
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended

• Initiates and maintains contact with manufacturer and OEMs
• Participates in manufacturer and dealership sponsored training programs, schools, and events
• Road tests vehicles when required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 1-3 years experience as a Diesel Mechanic
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• CDL certification preferred
• Driving Record Insurable through Company Carrier
• Ability to Read and Interpret Documents
• Ability to Document/Communicate effectively
